The story of the minotaur is as varied as any ancient myth, told over and over down through human existence. Usually he is depicted as a murderous monster slaying any who dare to make it to the center of King Midas' labyrinth where he guards the king's gold. The Minotaur in this representation is from Picasso's version: Theseus only blinds the Minotaur after which he becomes a symbol of peace and wanders the world with a young girl (representing innocence and the light of peace) speaking words of love.
Each one of these whimsical pins and earrings are hand-painted by me, Robin Senour, so there are no two alike.
For me, art is communication. I created this little work of art, but the conversation between artist and viewer is complete when someone owns it.
The clear material I chose to paint on is durable and easy to bend to my will.
I have my very own laser that gives me the freedom to create any shape that I can think of.
I love color. Finding wonderful color combinations drives me from one piece to the next. I paint them until they say, “I’m done!”
