I was drawing over an old watercolor and this character appeared which I call the Fire Queen. She is a forest spirit, and has the energy of a tiger. She is a shape shifter as well. She is accompanied by a familiar, a wolf spirit. Should the forest be threatened by fire, she pulls the fire inside her to protect the trees and forest animals from an untimely fate.
This is an original watercolor. It is painted with my favorite watercolors, a combination of Holbein and Daniel Smith colors. The paper is 300 lb Arches paper. It is a teeny painting measuring only 2.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches, which is a traditional size for what is termed an artist trading card or ATC. It is unframed, but ATCs come in a protective sleeve from which they can be displayed or removed and put in a frame.
