Hi, I'm Robin.
I'm a classically trained painter, a lover of myths and old stories, and the person who hand-paints every single piece you'll find in this shop. Welcome to Sacred Laughter — I'm so glad you're here.
Where It All Began
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Art in painting from San Jose State University, where I fell in love with the discipline and craft of classical technique. However, feeling highly skilled in a variety of mediums and techniques, the subject matter that inspired me the most was historically not accepted by art critics and art historians. It was the Instagram community in 2012 that truly lit the spark — connecting with other artists who were not hindered by an art school education. That gave me the freedom to delve more deeply into the stories we tell ourselves, and accept that the subjects I love to paint are fine art regardless of the categories the current Art World might place on my creations.
What Inspires Me
My work draws from the deep wells of mythology, history, and literature. I'm endlessly fascinated by the stories humans have told across centuries — the gods, the heroes, our personal stories that we tell ourselves, and how they affect our daily lives. Those threads find their way into every brushstroke.

There are no prints, no reproductions, no shortcuts. Each piece in this shop is a one-of-a-kind original, painted by hand with care and intention. When you bring one home, you're bringing home something that will never exist again in quite the same way.
