Sloths have fascinated me for awhile now, but when a customer at a show asked me if I had any iceskater pins, and I said that's a great idea, do you have an animal in mind that would be iceskating? She was looking on her phone for a picture of an iceskater shape to show me, so she didn't answer right away. With the speed of thought I saw a sloth as the iceskater because I thought what a great contrast that would be. My customer was thinking a bird, but the die was cast, an iceskating sloth was born.
The Details:
Each one of these whimsical pins and earrings are hand-painted by me, Robin Senour, so there are no two alike.
For me, art is communication. I created this little work of art, but the conversation between artist and viewer is complete when someone owns it.
The clear material I chose to paint on is durable and easy to bend to my will.
I have my very own laser that gives me the freedom to create any shape that I can think of.
I love color. Finding wonderful color combinations drives me from one piece to the next. I paint them until they say, “I’m done!”
If you are pin challenged, you can have a complimentary stand that will clip on the pinback, just indicate in your special instructions. It’s a little work of art, there are lots of ways to display it.
