The Artist

I have been making art all my life.  It is a process, my goals are still in front of me.  I want to make art and if someone else loves it, I want them to have it.

The facts are these:  I was born on March 31st, 1956, in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina.  My parents moved a lot, together and separately, and I was always the new kid.  My first real friend is the fabulous Beth Garner, who I met in high school.   I have lived in Berkeley, California for over 30 years.  I went to Berkeley High School when there was a School of the Arts.  I sang in two choirs, was in plays, but what I really liked doing was helping to make costumes.

I worked in an ice cream store and then went to art school.  I have a BFA from San Jose State University.  I worked for the Sierra Club for 11 years, ending as the managing editor for the lobbying materials.  I painted houses professionally for 12 years, where I got to paint really big things.

I am so very grateful for my creative skills.
